Ranch rules

Ascension Ranch is a working ranch with livestock. The host has asked every guest to follow these rules. You'll also receive a separate Ranch Waiver by email before the trip.

Getting there

Follow the "camping" signs on Rattlesnake Bar Rd, then turn left on Ascension Lane — the last private road before the Peninsula Campgrounds / Folsom State Park entrance. Stay right at the first Y, then left at the fork, and continue up to the ranch.

The organizer will text the gate code the day before, plus a heads-up 15 minutes before arrival. At the gate, enter the code and press the bottom-right button twice. Drive through to the construction-site area, park, and honk a few times — someone will come help you find the campsite.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the BMCC Summer Camping Trip at Ascension Ranch (Meadow View campsite, Pilot Hill, CA) on June 12–14, 2026 ("the Activity"), I, the undersigned participant (and parent or legal guardian if the participant is a minor), agree as follows:

1. Assumption of risk

I understand that camping involves inherent risks including but not limited to: physical injury from terrain, fire, water, wildlife, livestock, weather, vehicle travel, sports and games, and equipment; food allergies and dietary issues; insect and animal bites; falls; drowning; and exposure to remote conditions with limited cell service and emergency response. I voluntarily assume all such risks for myself and any minors in my party.

2. Release

I hereby release, waive, and discharge the Brentwood Muslim Community Center ("BMCC"), its officers, directors, members, volunteers, employees, and the trip organizer(s), from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action of any kind, including those caused by negligence, that arise out of or are related to my participation in the Activity, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

3. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BMCC, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, employees, and the trip organizer(s) from any loss, liability, damage, claim, or cost (including reasonable attorneys' fees) they may incur arising out of my participation in the Activity, or that of any minor for whom I am responsible.

4. Role of BMCC

I acknowledge that BMCC is facilitating this group trip but is not the operator of the campground. The campsite is operated by Ascension Ranch. I agree to also abide by Ascension Ranch's rules and to sign their separate Ranch Waiver as required.

5. Minors

If signing on behalf of a minor, I represent that I am the parent or legal guardian and have authority to sign for that minor, and that I am either personally attending and supervising the minor for the duration of the Activity OR have designated a responsible chaperone (18+) named in this RSVP form who has agreed to assume supervisory responsibility throughout the Activity.

6. Water safety

I understand that lifejackets are required for any entry into the water at the Activity, with no exceptions. I agree to ensure that I and any minor in my care wear a properly fitted, U.S. Coast Guard–approved lifejacket whenever entering the water, and that I am responsible for providing those lifejackets.

7. Medical authorization

In the event of a medical emergency where I cannot be reached or am incapacitated, I authorize the trip organizer or a designated chaperone to seek emergency medical treatment for me or any minor in my care. I agree to be financially responsible for any such treatment.

8. Conduct & ranch rules

I agree to follow all Ascension Ranch rules and BMCC trip rules including: no approaching livestock, closing all gates, complying with state and local fire bans, packing out food and trash, respecting quiet hours, and treating other guests, hosts, and animals with respect.

9. Photo & video release

By submitting this RSVP, I consent to photos or video taken during the Activity being used by BMCC for community purposes (newsletters, website, social media).

10. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
